CRUISIN' FOR KIDS 2010

The 6th annual Cruisin' for Kids skiathon was held in Vail, Colorado, on March 26, 2010.  It was as successful as it was snowy!!  Once again we raised over $150,000 and have now reached over $1,000,000 in just six years!!  It was a very snowy day as the participants were "Skiing for Solutions" and "Boarding for Breakthroughs" to reach our finish line--CURES.  Participants participated in an all-mountain scavenger hunt, but were "snowed out" of the races at the Black Forest Race Arena.  We all enjoyed the snow though and had a great lunch together and then enjoyed the POWDER!!  Everyone had a wonderful time at the After Party at the Sonnenalp celebrating our success.  Thanks to all who participated and all those who sponsored them!

Previous participants have discovered some fun and creative ways to get pledges and raise money.  In addition to e-mailing your fundraising web page (which can be created by clicking on the link below) to family and friends, you might want to try one of the following ideas which are not only great ways to raise money, but they also help spread awareness about the charity and the causes it supports:

·   Sell pizza, Dairy Queen blizzards, or hot chocolate at your school at lunch time (make sure you get administration approval first!)

·   Hold a raffle for a fun item

·   Set up a lemonade or soda stand on your block or at a park

·   Go door to door and talk to your neighbors about the event

·   Conduct a letter writing campaign

·   Ask a local business to match whatever funds you raise
